i have the mate xs, 10 months of use, dropped it a couple of times, no damage to the oled screen (maybe bec of the hydrogel screen protector?) no issues on performance, I'm still loving it, don't think I'll be upgrading to th x2 anytime soon.

If you want it then buy it, the only real problem is that its china only, and apparently it already sold out and being resell for higher than retail price from the last channel I watch about mate x2, I forget the channel name . If you care about Google, it's easy to sideload. So as long as USA didn't forbit you to get the device from china, Huawei still an option

Copying what? The folding phone concept is almost 20 years old and samsung was not the fist to release a folding phone. And the MateX2 is far better designed than the zFold 2. You people are ignorant, don't understand that this is how competition is, one takes an idea from another and makes it better not only copying. Huawei here did not Copy. It took the idea of folding phone inwards and made it better than Samsung's implementation. No gap, no narrow outerscreen, no metal bezel on the left side of the screen. And bigger innerscreen. As for google apps you have Huawei apps, youtube vanced, Huawei browser, Huawei cloud storage, Huawei mail (can sync gmail too) gmap works on Huawei devices. appGallery, apkpure. If you have a working brain you can easly adopt to alternatives.
Basically Huawei did what i imagined a couple of years ago already how the gapless solve would have to be, making the fold part more rounded and going inside the body more.
